Walks Vietnamese builders from a real problem to a product people pay for, in four weeks.

## The problem

Vietnamese builders can follow AI tutorials for months and still ship nothing anyone pays for. Courses teach tools in isolation, so the gap between learning and a live product stays. Most of them work alone, with no deadline and nobody checking whether the thing works.

## The approach

Runs one cohort on a fixed four week clock, ending in a public Demo Day. Every session ends with a brief, and every brief is graded against a working product. The trade-off is price; a $99 ticket fills the room but rules out per-person review.

## Where it is now

As of 2026-09-12 cohort 01 is in week four, with session seven on 2026-09-13. The Campus platform, the transcript AI chat and the assignment flow all run in production. The Replay product and its affiliate program are specified and priced but not yet built. Revenue has been flat since 2026-08-24, so nothing new has sold during the teaching weeks.

## What happens if this works

In three years the default way to learn building is a paid cohort with deadlines. Graduates become the distribution channel, earning commission on the programs and tools they helped build. If that holds, teaching pays for itself and the alumni network outgrows the original course.

## Evidence

- $16,872 collected as of 2026-09-12, zero refunds
- 140 enrolled, 120 signed into Campus, 61 submitted at least one assignment as of 2026-09-12
- Three tiers sold, 100 Early Bird at $99, 28 Builder at $249, 3 Team combo seats
- Nine sessions from 2026-08-23 to Demo Day on 2026-09-20
- Replay priced at $79 with 30% affiliate commission (n/a, pre-revenue until it opens after 2026-09-20)

## Notes

Every dollar Build to Own has taken arrived before the first session. The revenue curve
peaked in the week of 2026-08-17 at $12,951, added $1,743 the week after, and has been flat
since 2026-08-24. Three weeks of teaching produced no new sales, while 121 seats sat unsold
on a registration page that was open the whole time.

That is the thing worth saying out loud, because it points at what the program is still
missing rather than what it already proved. The teaching works; 61 of 140 people handed in
real work, and the Campus platform, the transcript search and the AI chat were all built
during the cohort rather than before it.

What is missing is a second thing to buy. Cohort 01 is a one time purchase, so nobody can
spend money twice even if they want to, and retention is not a number anyone can measure yet.
The answer being built is Replay at $79 with a 30% commission, sold through the alumni who
just finished the program. The top tier of cohort 01 already promises that affiliate setup as
a deliverable, which means the program has to run its own distribution machine before it can
sell one to anyone else.
